Baltimore County Democratic Central Committee

I’d like to welcome you to the Baltimore County Democratic Party’s website. Here, you will find information on Democratic activities around the county, including information on candidates, Democratic Clubs, volunteer opportunities, and major Democratic events. Our website will be updated often, so bookmark us and stay connected.

We have a tough election year ahead of us. Unless we want our country returned to the dark ages—a time when there were few government services of any kind, when only business interests received government help, and citizens had to fend for themselves--we need to re-elect President Barack Obama, Senator Ben Cardin, and our County’s Congressional Delegation. In Baltimore County, we are lucky to be represented by three dedicated Congressmen: Elijah Cummings (7th District), Dutch Ruppersberger (2nd District), and John Sarbanes (3rd District). These men, along with Senators Cardin and Barbara Mikulski, are focused on finding solutions to problems, not creating problems.

Many Democrats think there is little work to be done in Maryland, which is reliably Democratic in presidential races. But, here in Baltimore County, Democrats have to work hard each election year. Statewide races are won or lost based on our vote here in the “Ohio” of Maryland. We can’t take anything for granted.

As in 2008, much of this year’s presidential campaign activity will be focused on our neighboring states of Pennsylvania and Virginia. That year, we exported thousands of volunteers and made tens of thousands of phone calls to these and other swing states that helped to elect President Obama. We will be making the same effort this year, in addition to working for our congressmen here in Baltimore County.
